Service package for international students

As you already have enough on your plate when planning a semester abroad in Heidelberg, we have developed something especially for international students: The ServicePackage, which you can book before you arrive. This way you arrive relaxed and know that your room in the hall of residence is already waiting for you.

Our service package includes

✔ A room in a hall of residence for one semester (= 6 months)

✔ Personal advisor

✔ A CampusCard with a starting credit of 95 euros

✔ A service package costs 2,800 euros

(plus 650 Euro deposit for the dormitory room) for one semester (= 6 months)

Questions and answers about the ServicePackage

Who can apply for a ServicePackage?

Applicants from abroad with little or no knowledge of German who have not yet studied or lived in Germany and have submitted an application for admission to Heidelberg University or the University of Education. Short-term or program students (e.g. Erasmus) as well as students from German-speaking countries will only be given lower priority.

When does the ServicePackage contract begin and end?

The administrative semester at Heidelberg University begins in the winter semester on October 1 and ends on March 31. The summer semester begins on April 1 and ends on September 30. The ServicePackage contract therefore begins on October 1 or April 1. If you attend a preparatory language course in September or March, you can also start the ServicePackage one month earlier. How long can a ServicePackage be booked for?

A ServicePackage can only be booked for one semester. Subsequently, it is possible to extend the contract with a normal rental agreement (without ServicePackage).

Can I choose the hall of residence?

You cannot choose a specific hall of residence. (You will receive a furnished single room in a shared flat in one of the following halls of residence: INF 129, 133, 134, 135, 136, 660-662, 674-683.)
