With the BAföG digital account, your new identity card (eID), or electronic residence permit (eAT), you can submit your funding application digitally and send it to your BAföG office. You will be guided through the application quickly. Supporting documents can be submitted later to meet deadlines. Your parents can complete the application in a separately accessible area. You have already submitted your application? BAföG Digital informs you about the current status at the office, missing information and supporting documents – by email and in your area.

Your funding abroad

The usual conditions of BAföG apply for funding abroad, however some additional requirements must be met as well. Even though you may not be entitled to a grant for your domestic education, this does not mean that you are not entitled to one for your education abroad. The financial need for an education abroad is higher than for an education in Germany. Therefore, even taking into account the chargeable income, a grant may still be calculated.
